"Memories..."

We were given a royal treat the other night. Just when I begin to think: "What should I blog now?" We have a new experience. Last night was an amazing night. A group of us were invited to Pastor Paul and Lea's house for dinner. Lea is one of the Ward disciplers. Pastor Paul and Lea wanted to invite some of the people who they have come to know over to dinner for a thank-you for what you have done for us and for the country of Benin. I have to admit, this is going to be one of my top ten memories. They went all out!We arrived at a very basic looking building and were lead up 5 flights of stairs to the roof of the building. As we came out the door to the roof, we were greeted by our host, hostess, and their friends. They laid out a red carpet for us, decorated the gazebo in red and green fabric, balloons, and streamers. In the background they were playing "Jingle Bells".
Inside the gazebo, they had tables set with white table clothes...all looking very elegant!
One of the ladies from Pastor Paul's church made dinner for the group of us. We had an appetizer of baguettes, fish with cucumbers and carrots, and a mixture of vegetables. Then the main course is pictured below. Starting on the front left, there was fried fish (just cut in 1/2), rice, a bowl of marinated cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, with 1/2 and egg decoration, African BBQ fried chicken, above the chicken was diced and fried plantains, french fries, beef loin brochettes, and a sauce for the rice (that had some meat in it I had never tasted...did not want to ask either...)The whole night was such a blessing and I am very humbled by the graciousness of Pastor Paul and Lea. It was very extravagant and my heart was truly touched. It just reminded me how God lavishes His love on us...He sets a banqueting table for us and we are invited to feast with Him. Now, I don't want to miss that event!
